UV LED Curing for Optical Fiber Draw Tower Coating

Optical fiber production requires UV curing of primary and secondary acrylate coatings immediately after the glass fiber is drawn. High-speed draw towers require uniform, continuous UV exposure to support fiber performance and production capacity.

Incomplete or uneven cure can cause coating defects, delamination, residual stress, or optical performance issues. At high line speeds, the curing system must deliver uniform exposure around the fiber while supporting continuous 24/7 operation.

ETIA recommends OmniCure® AC Large UV LED fiber draw tower systems for uniform coating cure and OmniCure® AC922S-F for fiber-optimized ribbon coating applications. These systems support high-speed, continuous fiber manufacturing environments.
