These joints often involve small plastic components, thin balloon materials, and tight bond-line geometries. Because the final product is used in life-sustaining procedures, the curing process must be repeatable, controlled, and suitable for validated medical device production.

Catheter bonding requires strong and consistent adhesion without overheating delicate materials. Balloon joints often require 360° curing around a circular bond line, while hub and marker bonding require accurate light delivery to small areas. Inconsistent UV dose, uneven exposure, or lamp-output variation can affect bond strength and process reliability.
