Optical Fiber & Cable
Draw-tower coating, ribboning, termination and cable marking — 360° cure at line speed.
The problem
UV curing in Optical Fiber & Cable
A draw tower does not slow down for the UV lamp. Primary and secondary coatings have to cure fully, all the way round, at the speed the fibre is moving — or the line runs slower than the tower was bought for.
ETIA specifies the fibre-optimised LED head, its face-to-face arrangement and the dose at working distance, and supports the connector and splice work downstream with spot systems.
Processes we solve
Draw-tower primary & secondary coating
Face-to-face AC9225-F heads: up to 88 W/cm² at the fibre, 10–18 mm working distance, 40,000 h LED life.
Ribbon & tight-buffer coating
Even cure across a ribbon width; heads adjoin without a uniformity gap.
Connector termination & splice protection
Repeatable ferrule bonding and recoat with the S2000 Elite or LX500, radiometer-verified.
Cable marking & ribboning inks
UV-curable inks fixed inline by air-cooled LED heads, no solvent, no oven.
